Artist Kwadwo Adae’s “Women’s Empowerment Mural” is his second piece along the Farmington Canal Heritage Trail, painted on an 18 x 108 foot building owned by Tri-Con Construction LLC at the New Haven-Hamden border at Goodrich St.
Adae planned the mural after receiving a special projects grant from the Connecticut Office of the Arts and holding three public forums. Additional funding came from various organizations, and over 150 community volunteers helped with the project. Adae emphasized the collaborative nature of the mural, calling it a symbol of unity and community effort.
